Virginia Humphries Ward Mccutchen

Virginia Humphries Ward McCutchen, 90 of Brian Center; formerly of South State Street, Lexington died Thursday afternoon at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Virginia was born in Greenville, South Carolina January 12, 1917 to John Morris Ward and Maude Humphries Ward. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a lover of flowers and nature, and for 21 years worked at the souvenir booth of the Barbecue Festival. She was preceded in death by her husband James McCutchen in 1961, a daughter Eva Caroline McCutchen, brothers: John and Eugene Ward; Sisters: Vera Bishop, Irene Vandiver, Carrie Ward, Evelyn Dill, Lois Beddingfield and Frances Hodge. Surviving are her son James McCutchen and wife Betsy of Houston, TX; daughters Ginger Briggs and husband Gerald of Lexington; Mary McCutchen and husband David Utterback of Cincinnati, Ohio and Margie Clark and husband Franklin of Arcadia; grandchildren Christopher Briggs, Kyle Briggs and wife Allison, Mary Ensminger and husband Michael, Patrick McCutchen, Hannah and Graham Utterback; step-grandchildren Jessica and Jennifer Clark; and great-grandchildren Kayleigh and Noah Briggs. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday (01-28-2007)at First Presbyterian Church. The service will be conducted by Dr. Lee Zehmer and Dr. Denny Sebasan; burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 PM Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
