Virginia Bauguess Mckinnon

November 29, 1943 — May 23, 2023

Virginia Faye Bauguess McKinnon, 79, of Albert Drive in Lexington, passed away Tuesday May 23, 2023 at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday May 27, 2023 at Sheets Memorial Baptist church with Rev. Jeremy Benbrooks and Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating services. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mrs. McKinnon was born November 29, 1943 in Wilkes County to Howard Bauguess and Edith Beshears Winebarger Bauguess Church.  Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family, Gardening, Bird Watching, Animals, going to Flea Markets, and going to the Carolina Coast fishing. Virginia was retired from Forsyth Medical Center after 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Wilford Dean Doby; step-father, Roscoe Church; two sons, Michael Doby and Eric Doby; one daughter, Susan Doby; three brothers Johnnie Winebarger, Harold Minton Church and Wayne Winebarger; one sister, Pauline (Polly) Winebarger Finley.

Surviving is her husband, Jeff McKinnon, of the home; one son, William Doby (April) of Florida; two daughters, Ruth Craft (John) of Lexington and Karen Scott (Mike) of Mebane; step-sons Dennis Spear and Matthew McKinnon; step daughter, Lori Moore; two sisters, Barbara Winebarger Adams of Hamptonville and Aline Winebarger Wilhelm of  State Road; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Doby, Caroline Doby, Angelica Doby, Lauren Craft Wright, Emily Craft, Julia Scott Kaylen Scott and Matthew Scott; 2 step grandchildren, Casey Spear and Brook Spear and 5 great grandchildren.
