Virginia Baker Roten

Virginia Baker Roten, age 80 of Southmont passed away Tuesday at her home. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill O’Neal officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 pm in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Sunday and at other times at the home of daughter Wilma. Virginia was born in Mercer County, W.VA October 12, 1932 to Jessie James Baker and Sally Mae Smothers Baker. She was retired from sales at Walmart and a member of Calvary Family Worship Center. Preceded in death by her parents and husband Curtis Edward Roten, June 19, 2009. Surviving are daughters, Delores Howard and husband James of Columbia, SC; Patricia Smith and husband Tony of Southmont; Sandra Jones and husband Mike of Kershaw, SC and Wilma Luth and husband Gerry of Southmont; son, William (Eddie) Roten and wife Sharon of Southmont; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister Peggy Sue Williams of Jacksonville, Fl; half-sister, Deborah Beckner of Southmont.
