Virginia Lopp White, 98 of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 2, 2025, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday January 5, 2025 Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to service in the church parlor.
Born June 12, 1926, to William Avery Lopp and Claudie Mae Sink Lopp in Lexington, NC. Virginia graduated from Davis-Townsend School class of 1943 and attended Ashemore Business College in 1944. Virginia retired as Business Office Manager from Davidson County Community College in July 1988. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul James White and sister Dorothy Lopp Scarlett.
Surviving are her sons; Jim White (Nancy) of Orange Virgina and Fred White of Lexington. Granddaughters Kristin White Blankenship (Ben) of Mt. Crawford Virginia and Keri White Waters (Ben) of Herndon Virginia. Great-Grandsons Preston Blankenship, Colton Blankenship, Weston Blankenship, Sebastian Waters and Jack Waters. Sister Betty Brinkley (John) of New Bern.
Virginia was an active member of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ serving on consistory: taught Primary Sunday School Class for fifty-five years and served as President of Holly Grove Senior Citizens for a number of years.
