Virginia Spivey Williamson, age 87, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, surrounded by her devoted family. Virginia was born to Thomas and Annie Spivey on May 17, 1936. She spent her life contributing to the world around her, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew her.
Before her well-deserved retirement, Virginia dedicated herself to her work at Dixie Furniture, where she played an integral role in the cabinet room. Her commitment and work ethic were exemplary, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Virginia found solace and inspiration in her faith, attending East End Baptist Church. She embraced the joys of modern technology, finding pleasure in playing on her iPad. Her zest for life was evident in every aspect of her being.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Annie Spivey, her beloved husband, J.D. Williamson, and her dear brother, Douglas Spivey. Virginia is survived by her loving children, Rickie Williamson (Terri), Billy Williamson, and Wanda Savage (David). She leaves a cherished legacy in her three grandchildren, Trey Savage (Holly), Sterling Savage, and Dustin Williamson, as well as six great-grandchildren: Blake, Ty, Ashlyn, Mason, Cadence, and Leeland.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made in Virginia's name to Hinkle Hospice House of Davidson County, a cause that was close to her heart.
A graveside service to honor and remember Virginia will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry Bowen officiating services.
