Vivian Patrick Atwell

Vivian Patrick Atwell 78 passed away Sunday morning, November 20, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 22 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree followed by a funeral service held in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob McCaskill officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23 at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Vivian was born on April 26, 1933 in Tazewell County, VA to Lewis Patrick and Sally Gillespie Patrick. She was a member of Pinedale Christian Church and worked for Food Fair for 29 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Freda Taylor. Surviving are her husband Joseph Daniel Atwell of the home; a son Joseph Daniel Atwell, II and wife Kathy of Winston-Salem; one brother Lowell Patrick and wife Betty of Bluefield, VA; two sisters, Billie Sue Davidson and husband Earl of Greensboro, Sandy Bowman and husband Ernest of Bluefield, VA; two step grandchildren, Jennifer and Amanda and special nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Pallative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
