Vivian Ginn, age 87, of Mallard Ridge, Clemmons passed away Friday morning (January 1, 2010) at Mallard Ridge. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010, at North Lexington Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Robert Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Ginn was born November 8, 1922, in Caswell County, to George Royce Pope and Ida Estelle Ferguson Pope. She was retired from Carolina Panel Company. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Eugene Ginn. Surviving are her sons, Kelly Ginn and wife, Regina, of Linwood, and Martin F. Ginn and wife, Carethia, of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Brittany Ginn of Lexington, David Ginn of Mt. Pleasant, and Cindy Nichols and husband, Phil, of Boiling Springs, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Trey Nichols, Ryan Nichols, Taylor Nichols, Morgan Nichols, and Hannah Ginn; brothers, Fred Pope of China Grove, and Larry Pope of Welcome; sister, Maxine Hege of Concord; and brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Edna Gordon of Macon, Ga. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of the son, Kelly Ginn of Linwood. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215; Hospice and Palliative Care Centers of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to extend special thanks to the residence and staff of Mallard Ridge Assisted Living for the many kindnesses shown to Mrs. Ginn and her family.
