Vivian Brinkley Wade

Vivian Brinkley Wade, 80 previously of Mt. Moriah Drive, Lexington died Monday afternoon at Craver Living Center in Durham. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lexington where she was a member with Rev. Wayne Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Wade was born April 22, 1927 in Lenoir County to Cicero Brinkley and Clemmie Harris Brinkley. She was preceded in death by a son Michael E. Dorsey. Mrs. Wade is survived by a son Thomas R. Dorsey, Jr. of Lexington; two daughters Barbara Jolly of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and Susan Akhtar of Durham; two brothers William Brinkley and Preston Brinkley; a sister Violet Frazier; nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
