Vonetta Young Floyd

Vonetta Young Floyd, 74, of Lexington, passed away July 26, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 am Monday July 29, 2024, at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. Butch Conrad officiating. The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Floyd was born August 11, 1949, in Davidson County, to Ray Von Young and Reva Snider Young. She was the owner and operator of Von’s Kid’s inc in Lexington, having started her daycare in her house in 1973. Was a graduate from East Carolina University having received her bachelor’s degree. Her passion was her faith, family and especially her grandchildren. Vonetta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Reid Floyd who died August 4, 2018, brother and sister-in-law, Gene Ray Young, and wife Myra.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Marty Floyd and wife Audrey and Shane Floyd and wife Michelle, both of Lexington; mother, Reva Snider Young of Lexington; sister, Regina Young Humphrey of Lexington, grandchildren, Zachary Floyd, Dillon Floyd, Jessica Floyd, and Austin Floyd.
