LINWOOD | Wilbur Lee Lomax Jr., 64, of Seven Oaks Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at his residence after a long illness. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Churchland Baptist Church by the Rev. Ray Howell IV. He was born Oct. 2, 1943, in Davidson County to Wilbur Lee Lomax Sr. and Helen Wilkinson Lomax. A self-employed construction worker, he was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Johnson Lomax; a son, Wilbur Lee Lomax III; a daughter, Angie Grubb; a brother, Barry Lomax; and a sister, Nancy Lomax Walser. Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Allman and her husband, Randall, of Linwood; five grandchildren, Clint Grubb, Shala Grubb, Megan Allman, Molly Allman and Matthew Allman; two brothers, Buddy Lomax of Lexington and Daryl Lomax of Carolina Beach; and a sister, Judy Miller of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and other times at the home of the daughter, 569 Sowers Road, Linwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Churchland Baptist Church, 7516 N.C. Highway 150 South, Lexington, NC 27295 or Yadkin Baptist Church, c/o Layne Walser, 3515 Swicegood Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
