W. Paul Styers, 91 of Holloways Church Road, Lexington died Sunday night, March 4 in Lexington Memorial Hospital after one year of declining health A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 7 at Mountain View Baptist Church where he was a member, conducted by Rev. Tim Miller and Rev. John Kroh with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Styers was born November 27, 1915 in Davidson County to Abram Columbus Styers and Pallie Hardister Styers. A retired employee of Hekman Cabinet, he was preceded in death by his son, Billy Styers and four sisters, Sadie Gerringer, Vera Owen, Ethel Browning and Hattie Hunt. He is survived by his wife,Myrtle Carrick Styers of Lexington, a son Don Styers and wife Sarah of Lexington, a daughter-in-law Gail Styers Maness of Lexington, grandchildren Robin Shuman, Monica Walker, Dr. Chris Styers and Dr. Lynn Styers, great grandchildren Leslie Cash, Emily Shuman, David Shuman and Jason Walker, brothers Arvil Styers and wife Peggy of Lexington and sister Mattie Styers Cook of Elon, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, Don Styers, 255 Owens Road, Lexington.
