Waldemar Emil Kmentt

Waldemar Emil Kmentt, 91, of George Surratt Road, died Thursday, July 21, 2016, at his home. There will be no formal services. Mr. Kmentt was born November 1, 1924, in Summit County, Ohio, to Waldemar Demetrius Kmentt and Anna Marie Teresa Berthold Kmentt. He was a retired engineer from Durst and a member of Lepidopterist Society. Mr. Kmentt served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Mae Welbaum Kmentt; brothers, Richard C. Kmentt and E. Karl Kmentt ; and sister, Elfrieda Lewis. Surviving are sons, Max Kmentt and wife Teresa Gail, Karl Kmentt, all of Lexington, and Waldemar Kmentt II of Hawaii; daughter, Gerda Maria Bowman and husband Mac of South Carolina; stepsons, Craig Welbaum and wife Mary Alice of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Scott Welbaum and wife Maria of Pennsylvania; stepdaughter, Lesle Beals and husband Garry of Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hildegard Thomas of Ohio.
