Walser Lee Hicks

Walser “Lee” Hicks, Jr., 74, of Midway, passed away, Monday, April 27, 2026, at his home.

Born in Winston-Salem, on September 4, 1951, he was the son of the late Walser Lee Hicks, Sr. and the late Attareese Faeson Wright. He married the love of his life, Sandra “Sandy” Lee Shoemaker Hicks on October 12, 1980, they were blessed to share forty-five years together. She preceded him in death earlier this year. He retired from the State of North Carolina as an Engineering Technician after many years of faithful service. 

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Richard Scott Hicks; step-sons, Brett Nagel (Wendy) and Randall Nagel (Vivian); step-daughter, Tamara Nagel (Frank); and numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will hold a private celebration of Lee’s life, and his inurnment will take place at Parklawn Memorial Park.
