Walter Thomas Mickle Sr.

Walter Thomas Mickel, Sr., 68, of Simerson Road passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Ray N. Howell, IV and Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Mr. Mickel was born on July 21, 1940 in Davidson County to Walter Truman Mickel, Sr. and Ora Mae Suttle Mickel. He was a member of Churchland Baptist Church and was employed at Walker & Associates of Midway. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Lou Craver Mickel who died in November 2005. Surviving are a son Walter “Tommy” Mickel, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Lexington; daughters Lou Ann Mickel of the home and Deborah Phillips and husband Clark of Little River, SC; grandchildren Bradley Phillips, Brian Phillips, Chase Mickel, Amber Mickel and Patrick Mickel, a twin brother Billy and sisters Doris, Peggy and Betty. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and other times at the home.
