Walter Quilman Sain, 75, of W. Center St Ext, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. Mr. Sain was born on November 17, 1948, in Davidson County to Lester and Ovaline Myers Sain. He proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam and was wounded in combat and received several purple hearts and other medals. Professionally he worked as a truck driver throughout his life. He loved fast cars and watching NASCAR.
A graveside service to honor Walter will be held at Paul’s Chapel Church Cemetery Monday, June 17 at 2:00pm with Pastor Aaron Long officiating.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carolyn Plymale Sain, son, David Sain, and his daughter, Nicole Hellard (Todd), both of Lexington and Cathe Sosebee (Michael) of Gulf Breeze, FL. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Cheyenne and MacKenzie, and special friends Frank and Lonnie, and don’t forget Henri, his precious furbaby.
Walter will be remembered for his service to his country, his hardworking nature, and the love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
