Walter Thomas Tester

Walter Thomas Tester, 63, of Spencer went to live among the stars, Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Tester was born November 21, 1957, in Davidson County to Cecil Ralph Tester and Alice Opal Eggers Tester. Walter attended DCCC and obtained an associate’s degree in business and music. One of his greatest loves was music. He sang, wrote his own music, and played the piano and the guitar for most of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Tester and Gary Tester; and in-laws, Jimmy Koontz, Robert Hooper, and Kathryn Hooper.

Surviving is one daughter, Audrey Artz; one son in-law, Dustin Artz; one granddaughter, Eleanor Artz; one son, Richard Tester; two brothers, Kevin Tester and Jeff Tester; one sister, Ala Jo Koontz; beloved companion, Debbie Tester; two sisters in-law, Betty Hooper and Patricia Thompson; and dear friends Danny and Peggy Artz.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Compass Healthcare and Rehab of Rowan for the wonderful care they took of Walter.
