Wanda Baugher Beck

Mrs. Wanda Mae Baugher Beck, 79, of Burkhart Road, Lexington NC, passed away January 20, 2022 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday January 24, 2022 at Becks Lutheran Church, services be will conducted by Pastor Chris Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church.

Due to the Covid -19 pandemic, the church requires for everyone attending services to wear a face covering.

Mrs. Beck was born on April 22, 1942 in Elkton Virginia to Miller Baugher and Lillian Adaline Herring Baugher. She was a graduate of Elkton High School, graduating in June 1960. She married her long time sweetheart Buford Earl Beck of Lexington NC in November 1960. Buford served in the U.S. Air Force, while Wanda worked with various attorneys in Lexington until she was hired full time in 1970 with Stoner-Bowers & Gray Attorney at Law. Wanda retired from Stoner-Bowers & Gray with over 40 years of service.

Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The center of her life was her family and her church family. She was a gracious woman and willingly volunteered her time, talents and treasures to others and to all activities and functions in the church. To serve others and share Gods love was her ministry and guided her thought out her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Beck, her parents Miller and Lillian Baugher, her in-laws Arlie and Elsie Beck, Son-in-law Richard Strabley (Ramona), brother-in-law Steve Kite (Brenda),  sister-in-law Jackie Beck (Buddy) and sister-in-law Priscilla Beck (James).

She is survived by her daughters, Ramona Strabley, Cathy Blankenship (Buford), grandchildren, Amber Craver (Michael), Brittany Guest (Drew), Chase Blankenship (Kimberly), great-grandchildren, Hunter and Lexi all of Lexington NC. Sister, Brenda Kite of Elkton Virginia; brothers-in-laws, Buddy Beck, James Robert Beck, sister-in-law Patty Beck, all of Lexington NC and several nieces and nephews.
