Wanda Dickens Lambeth Alexander, 80, of Robert Floyd Dr., Lexington, passed away August 2, 2024, at her home in Lexington.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 8, 2024, at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lexington, where she was a member, with Pastor Mark Hopkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church.
Wanda was born March 20, 1944, in Guilford County, to Clyde Dickens and Helen Marie Hedgecock Dickens. She was a CNA having worked over 30 years in several nursing homes. Wanda was a devoted member of the church and the church family, having served the church for many years, she loved to go to the Davidson County Senior Center where she enjoyed being with other people and working with crafts. Her passion was her faith, church, family, and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great - great grandchildren, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Giles Clayton Alexander who died November 1997, her brothers, Gene Dickens, Charles Dickens, Bobby Dickens, Roy Dickens, Neal Dickens,and Allen Dickens.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Eugene Lambeth and wife Mary, of Lexington, Jimmy Alexander and wife Vicky, of Raleigh, daughters, Marie Melton and partner Jon Heugel of South Port, Nancy Lambeth and Teresa Kmentt and husband Max, of Lexington; also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, sisters, Doris Boles of Thomasville, and Carie Baumhauer, of Asheboro.
