Wanda Joy Walker Leonard

Wanda Joy Walker Leonard, 65, of Gus Hill Road, Clemmons, died Tuesday at Forsyth Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm Thursday in the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel, with Kandi Thackett conducting the service. Mrs. Leonard was born September 23, 1942 in Cabarrus County to Alfred Ernest Walker and Beatrice Steeves Walker. She was a retired plant supervisor for Quality Embroidery, where she worked for 23 years. She had previously worked for Duracell. Mrs. Leonard was preceded in death by Keith Leonard who passed away in 1994 to whom she was previously married to, three brothers, Fredrick E. Walker, Floyd L. Walker, and John S. Walker, and a sister Caroline Walker Cash. Surviving are her two daughters, Stephanie Leonard Walser and husband Chris of Clemmons, and Danita Porter of Rural Hall; two grandchildren Chris Rogers, of Tampa, FL and Joe Biles of Kernersville, a sister, Effie M. Walker Mullis and husband Earl of Concord, and special family Susan, Marvin, and Wesley Little, several nephews, and a special friend Glenn Romesburg. She is also survived by Stoodles, Sassy, and Daisy her canines, and her many cats who brought joy to her life. The family will receive friends following the memorial service from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel.
