Wanda Gayle Leonard Hege

Wanda Leonard Hege, 68, of Lexington, passed away March 24, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice of Lexington.

A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Wanda was born September 30, 1955, in Davidson County, to Connie Wayne Leonard and Rebecca Carolyn Whiteside Leonard. She retired having worked in fast food service. Her passion was her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandson. Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Sara Hege.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Candace Vandermark husband Joe, of Welcome, Marcie Johnson husband David, her grandchildren, Joe N. Vandermark, Adam Vandermark, Jamie Jester Martin, and David Johnson Jr., Also her great grandson, Sebastian Martin, sister, Carol Everhart husband Steve of Lexington.

The family would like to thank the staff at Thomasville Medical Center and Hinkle Hospice of Lexington, for the care and support they shared with their mother and them.
