Wanda Faye Musick Simerson, aged 61, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
A woman of compassion and dedication, Wanda's life will be remembered and celebrated at a graveside service on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11 am at Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Keith McGee will officiate the service, providing solace and support to family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 pm until 8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to share stories and offer support during this difficult time.
Born on October 15, 1962, in Bristol, VA, Wanda was the beloved daughter of Ronnie Lee Musick and Barbara Rambo Musick, both of whom preceded her in death. She carried the values instilled in her by her parents throughout her life. Wanda devoted herself to a career in nursing, retiring with a legacy of caring for others. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, defining her roles as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Wanda's selflessness and unwavering support endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Richard Sidney Simerson, II, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Her son, Jerry Wayne James, Jr. (Andrea), was a source of immense pride and joy for Wanda, and her grandson, Aaron Edward James, brought an extra sparkle to her eyes with every smile. Wanda's family circle also included her sister, Misty Statzer (David), and sister-in-law, D. Anne Nance (Rocky). Gracie Statzer and Rebecca Hooper (Josh), her nieces, held a special place in her heart, and Wanda's legacy of love will live on through the bonds of family she cultivated.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be directed to the Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 3462 Sowers Rd, Linwood, NC 27299, in honor of Wanda's memory.
Wanda Faye Musick Simerson will be remembered for her kindness, her warmth, and the enduring love she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace, and may her legacy of love and compassion continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence.
