Wesley Eugene Everhart

Winston-Salem, NC - Wesley Eugene Everhart, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on Tuesday, August 10, 1943, Wesley was a lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he dedicated his life to his family, work, and passions.

Wesley was the beloved husband of Jackie Garner Everhart, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. Their loving and enduring partnership was an inspiration to family and friends alike. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie, and his two cherished sons, Wesley Eugene Everhart Jr. and his wife Candy, and Timothy Wayne Everhart, all residing in Winston-Salem.

Wesley's life was enriched by his brothers ,Larry, Jack and Leroy, and his sisters, Lovetta, and Lina, who will fondly remember the moments shared and bonds formed over a lifetime. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clandon Everhart and Hazel Irene Forbus Everhart, as well as his sisters, Mary Ann, Doris, and Mildred and one brother Norman, who are all remembered with love.

A proud and loving grandfather, Wesley deeply cherished his grandchildren, Wayne, Amber, Ashley, and Little Wesley, and his great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Mack, Aibhlinn, and Jameson. His family was his pride and joy, and he took immense pleasure in watching them grow.

Wesley was a dedicated employee of R. J. Reynolds, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement. Known for his steadfast work ethic and reliability, Wesley made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the community.

Outside of work, Wesley found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid gardener, he loved tending to his yard, nurturing plants, and enjoying the tranquility of nature. His green thumb was admired by all who had the pleasure of visiting his beautifully kept gardens.

A man of adventure, Wesley relished traveling and exploring new places. His adventurous spirit took him on numerous trips, creating precious memories with Jackie and his family. Those who knew Wesley will remember his warm smile, kind heart, and the twinkle in his eye when recounting tales of his travels.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. Wesley’s family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating his life, cherishing the memories made and the legacy left behind. A service honoring Wesley's life will be held Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, at 1:00, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 before the service. Committal will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Wesley Eugene Everhart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to love, hard work, and the importance of family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
