Willa Mae Burkhart Fritts, 93, of Pete Fritts Road, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Health -- Lexington Medical Center. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Alliance Church by Pastor Richard Barker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church fellowship hall just prior to the service and other times at the home on Pete Fritts Road. Mrs. Fritts was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Davidson County to James Cloys and Naomi Fritts Burkhart. She was a licensed cosmetologist for 66 years as owner/operator of Art Beauty Salon and later Willa Mae’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of Grace Alliance Church for 50 years and was a longtime member of the church choir. On April 15, 1949, she married George C. Fritts, who preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son Jeff Fritts; sister Colleen Beck; brother J.C. Burkhart Sr.; and son-in-law Johnny Kepley. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Fritts and Kathy Kepley of Lexington; three grandsons, Zachary Kepley (Michelle) of Thomasville, Nathan Kepley (Karen) of Davidson and Jestin Fritts of Sylva; two granddaughters, Jessica McCarl (Mat) of Alexandria, Virginia, and Kimberly Herbert of Kannapolis; and eight great-grandchildren, Silas Kepley, Riley Kepley, Tyler Kepley, Brody Kepley, Sumaya McCarl, Josh Hayes, Christopher Herbert and Justin Herbert.
