Willard Michael Mccroskey

Willard Michael McCroskey, Sr., 77, of Casper Lane in Lexington, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at his home.

Mr. McCroskey was born September 24, 1946 in Virginia to Jerry Wayne McCroskey and Nora Ellen Dye McCroskey. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, bird watching, NASCAR, and wood working. He was also an avid knife collector. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dixie McCroskey, his parents, and many brothers and sisters.

Surviving is a son Willard McCroskey, Jr. (Magdalena) of Indiana; a daughter, Melissa “Missy” Hayes (Tim) of Thomasville; three brothers, Larry McCroskey (Diane), Rodney McCroskey (Fay), and Marshall McCroskey (Debbie), all of Virginia; three sisters, Shirley Shrader, Wanda Asbury (Herbert), and Elsie Hinegar (Wayne), all of Virginia; 2 grandchildren, Margaret McCroskey (Joewy) and Kyle Matthew McCroskey; a sister-in-law Candy Jenkins (Donnie) of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
