William "Bill" Howard Chaffin

William Howard “ Bill” Chaffin, Sr., 83 of Sunset Beach, NC formerly of Lexington, died Tuesday December 31, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday January 26, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Doug McGee officiating. Bill was born in Rowan County on September 17, 1930 to Mae Chaffin Barber. He was a supervisor at Frank Ix & Sons. He was an avid golfer and moved to Sunset Beach where he loved to play golf with his friends. Surviving is his loving wife, Darlene Craver Chaffin of the home, son Howard Chaffin, Jr (Gayle) of Lexington, daughters Wendy Nemeth(Jeff) of Winston Salem and Chrissy Huff of Charlotte, grandchildren Killian, Jacob, Julian, Gabby and Leonta and great grandson David, brothers Dale Barber(Janet) of Thomasville and Charles Barber(Emily) of VA. Also surviving, Uncle Charlie Chaffin (Annette) of VA, Sister-In-Law Becky Bennett (Glenn) of Lexington and Brother-In-Law Ray Craver
