William "Bill" Currie

William “Bill “ Alfred Currie, 70, of Spruce Street, Lexington died Tuesday July 11, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery in Salisbury North Carolina, with Rev. Dearl Bunce officiating services.  The family will receive friends at the home, time to be determined.  Mr. Currie was born November 10, 1946 in Richmond County to William Jennings Currie and Laura Mary Hite Currie. He was a member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, a United States Marine veteran and a member of American Legion Post #8. He was preceded in death by his parents.  Surviving are his wife, Sherry Kiger Currie, of the home; one daughter, Laura Dagenhart and husband Brad, of Lexington; one brother, Mitchell Currie and wife Carol, of Florida; 4 grandchildren, William Jackson, Rachel Lynn, Braelyn Elizabeth and Ryan Tate.  Memorials may be made to Gideons Bible International PO Box 140800 Nashville , TN 37214-0800
