William “Bill” James Edmonds, 77, a resident of Lexington, passed way Friday, September 2, 2022 in Hinkle Hospice Home. Bill was born in Cabell County, West Virginia on August 17, 1945 to the late Manford and Sarah Ann Edmonds. He proudly served his country in the US Army, and served in the Vietnam War. Bill was a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved his work, traveling, and enjoyed staying on top of the latest technology and gadgets. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a wife, Mary Edmonds.
A funeral service will be held Monday, September 5, 2022 at 11:00AM in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 10 am at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter, Pam, 1327 Hunt Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; daughters, Pam King (Scott) of Lexington, Billie Jo Varner (Eddie) of Clover, SC, Tracy Walters (Keith) of Lexington, and Leah Beck (Chris) of Lexington; a brother, Junior Edmonds, (Gail) of West Virginia; a sister, Jo Chapman of West Virginia; grandchildren, Justin King (Katlin), Tiffany King, Kala Nock (Brandon), Lucas Varner (Nevada), Jessica Walters, Ivey Walters, and Rachel Beck; and six great-grandchildren.
