William “Bill” Oscar Ennett, 83, of Brown Street, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
The funeral will be at 2:00pm Wednesday in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel by Chaplin Thomas Clements. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Ennett was born in Virginia on August 9, 1924, and was raised in Tarpon Springs, Florida by his father D.Z. Ennett and mother Lucille Fentress Ennett. He was retired from the US Army, having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of VFW Post 3074 and the American Legion Post 8.
Surviving are his wife, Jewel Broadway Ennett of the home; a son, Daniel C. Ennett Sr. of Lexington; and two grandchildren, Amanda Ennett and Daniel Ennett Jr.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
