William "Bill" Hilliard

William “Bill” Hilliard, age 83 of Wilmington formerly of Lexington passed away at his home, in Wilmington, Saturday (January 8, 2011). The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Thomas Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter, 500 Wall Street. Mr. Hilliard was born September 23, 1927, in Chatham County, to Guy Hilliard and Daisy Hart Hilliard. He was a member of Spruce Street Baptist Church, however he attended Maranatha Baptist Church for the last 10 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ridenhour Hilliard; son, Keith Hilliard; brothers, Cone Hilliard, Roy Hilliard, and Paul Hilliard; and sisters, Reva Tysinger, Margaret Lowe, and Elizabeth Hatley. Surviving are sons, Gary Hilliard and wife, Brenda, and Ricky Hilliard and wife, Ann, all of Lexington; daughters, Fern Warner of Lexington and Deborah Citrano and husband, Bob, of Wilmington; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lou Watson of Florida.
