William Odell Brinkley

William Odell Brinkley, age 69 of Winston-Salem, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 1, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 3, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Welcome with the Rev. Mark Blair officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. William was born on July 4, 1940 in Davidson County to Baxter Odell and Hazel Gallimore Brinkley. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Welcome and was brick mason by trade, worked at Adams Mulford and presently employed with Home Depot. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife Esther Thompson Brinkley of the home; one son, Michael Odell Brinkley and wife Carrie (Britt) of Welcome; one brother, Howard A. Brinkley and wife Mildred of Welcome; two sisters, Brenda Hartman Dewight of Midway and Martha Yarbrough and husband Clegg of Southmont; two grandchildren, Caitlyn Berrier and his fishing partner, Christina Bree Brinkley of Welcome, with a number of cousins, nieces and nephews Memorials my be made to First Baptist Church of Welcome, 404 Welcome-Arcadia Road, Lexington, NC 27295 and the Kidney Foundation National, 5950 Fairview Road, Suite 708, Charlotte, NC 28210.Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
