William Glen Canaday, Jr., 69, of Lexington passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Thomasville Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with the Rev. Lomax Skinner officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service.
Mr. Canaday was born in Mullens, WV on April 18, 1952, to William Glen Canaday, Sr. and Nancy Laverne Roberts Canaday. He was a retired crossing guard, having worked for the Lexington Police Department and was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Canaday.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Avis Holmes Canaday of the home; two sons, Glen Canaday (Jessica) of Lexington, and Damon Canaday of Loretto, MN; his mother, Nancy Canaday; two sisters, Linda, and Sherry; and three grandchildren, Lilly, Avery, and Ryan.
