William D. Billy Hedrick

William D. “Billy” Hedrick,71, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 pm Friday September 1, 2023, at Bethany Methodist Church, where he was a lifelong member, with the Rev. Michael Jernigan officiating. The family will see friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Billy was born November 25, 1951, in Davidson County, to Charles Matthew Hedrick and Nancy Trexler Hedrick. Billy was a devoted member of the church. Was retired Co-Owner of Hedrick Brothers Lumber Company. He was a past member of the Central Lions Club for 25 years, and treasurer for 5 years. Was a 1970 graduate of Denton High School. Billy loved to shag and line dance with friends, loved being outdoors, and enjoyed family time. His passion was his faith, church, family and especially his grandchildren. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be missed by all.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Joan Gallimore Hedrick, of the home, his son, Mark Hedrick and wife Britni of Lexington, daughter, Julie Richardson and husband Justin of Liberty, NC, grandchildren,­­­­­­­­­­­­ Charlotte Richardson, Rhett Richardson, Avery Hedrick, and Eden Hedrick, brother, Charles R. “Ricky” Hedrick and wife Patricia of Lexington.
