William "Doug" Levi Ayers

William “Doug” Levi Ayers, 61, of Meadow Lane, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at his home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service and at other times at the home of Ella And Roy Dunn. Mr. Ayers was born January 6, 1954, in Radford, Va., to Levi Clayton Ayers and Lucille Rhodes Ayers. He served in the U.S. Army and had worked for Duracell for 25 years prior to his retirement. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are son, Chris Ayers of Lexington; daughter, Alicia Michelle Ayers of High Point, grandson, Camren Ellis of Lexington; and sisters, Susie Owen and Ella Dunn and husband Roy, all of Lexington.
