William Forrest Edwards

William Forrest Edwards 83 passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 at his home. A funeral service will be held at the Mausoleum Chapel at Parklawn Memorial Park cemetery at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 with Rev. Nat Thompson officiating. A visitation will be one hour before the service in the Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Forrest was born in Graham, NC on August 14, 1933 to Bill and Eva Doby Edwards and moved to Midway, NC in 1979. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1951. He was employed at Western Electric now known as Alcatel-Lucent for 38 years. He served as a Chaplan’s assistant in the army in 1955 and 1956. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Faye Robinson Edwards of 59 years, as well as his sons Michael, Wendell married to Loretta and Scott married to Karen; also, five grandchildren, Chris, Brandon, Hannah, Jessie and Barbara; a brother, Donnie F. Edwards from Graham, NC. The Edwards always included dogs as members of their family throughout the years. Forrest was admired and loved by his family, friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1900 S. Hawthorne Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 and Hospice of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Road is assisting the family.
