William Eugene Darnell

William Eugene Darnell, age 67, Pine Top Rd., Lexington died Monday, November 19, 2007 in Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte after one year of declining health. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at East End Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gainey and Rev. Jerry Bowen officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mr. Darnell was born February 16, 1940 in Davidson County to Garthard William Darnell and Frances Fern Davis Darnell. A retired supervisor for PPG, he was a member of East End Baptist Church. He was a past member of Davidson County Rescue Squad. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara Myers Darnell, October 3, 2006. Surviving are two sons, William Todd Darnell and wife, Stacie; Craig Shane Darnell and fiancée Sheila all of Lexington; four grandchildren, Thomas Colt Darnell, Jessica Ann Darnell, Casey Leigh Darnell and Samuel Ashton Darnell; two brothers, Jerry Darnell and wife, Carolyn, Danny Darnell and wife Sylvia all of Lexington; a sister Frankie Powell and husband, Bobby of Lexington. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME and other times at the home.
