William Ferguson

William Gerald Ferguson, 86, of Peacock Drive Lexington, passed away January 10, 2014 at his home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday January 15, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. There will no formal visitation. Mr. Ferguson was born February 10, 1927 in Wilkes County to Williard W. Ferguson and Martha Ann Land Ferguson. After William graduated high school, he joined the Navy and later went into the Air Force, from which he retired after 22 years of service. He served his country in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. After his service to his country, he moved to Lexington where he worked for Lexington Furniture Industries until age 75. Mr. Ferguson was a member of first Alliance Church and enjoyed worship with his congregation. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is a sister, Karen Jean Ferguson of Moravian Falls and a brother, Dr. Joe I Ferguson of Knoxville Tenn.
