William “Bill” Lee Fox, 87, of Lexington Health Care, formerly of Tyro School Road, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at the nursing home, following an extended illness.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Victory Baptist Church, where he was a member, by Pastor Roy Franks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Fox was born in McDowell County on April 22, 1920, to Derman Fox and Oma Miller Fox. He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of VFW Post 3074, and retired from Erlanger Cotton Mill. Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his parents and a stepdaughter, Kathryn Guill.
Surviving are his wife, Dessie Lamb Fox, a stepson, Larry Cosby of Lexington; two sisters, Loraine Fox of Marion and Frankie Duncan and husband, Warren, of Delaware; five step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and two step great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Larry Cosby on Tyro School Road.
