William Baise Haga

William Baise Haga, age 87 of Abbotts Creek Care and Rehabilitation, formerly of Marion Virginia, passed away Sunday afternoon at Abbotts Creek.  Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday (2-19-2009) in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bud Rowe officiating.  Burial will be in Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Virginia, at 2:00 pm Friday (2-20-2009), conducted by Rev. Andrew Hill.   Mr. Haga was born in Smyth County, Virginia, February 28, 1921 to Aquilla Jackson Haga and Cora Jane Hash Haga.  He was retired from McLean Trucking.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pansy Haga, who passed away in 1992; two daughters, Rita Darlene Throckmorton and Sandra Haga; four brothers and one sister.   Surviving are: one son, William L. Haga, Sr. and wife Phyllis of Siler City, NC; one daughter, Carol Bates and husband James Sanfred Bates, Jr. of Winston Salem, NC; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.   The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home immediately following the service.        Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
