William Hoyle Parks

William Hoyle Parks, 85, of Parks Road, died Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Becks Reformed Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. James Byers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Mr. Parks was born November 19, 1930, in Davidson County, to Henry Grover Parks and Minnie Young Parks. He was a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and founder of LexCo Heating and Cooling, Inc. Mr. Parks was a very active member at his church. He had served in many capacities which included Elder, Deacon, past President of the Consistory, and Sunday school teacher. He was also a former member of Central Lions Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hilda Hedrick Parks who died February 6, 2001; brother, Reid Parks; sister, Mabel Lookabill; brothers-in-law, Willis Hedrick, Joe Hedrick, Jerry Hedrick and Carl Lookabill. Surviving are sons, Will Parks and wife Joanie, and David Parks and wife, Melody, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Laura Lavarnway and husband Mike of Boone, Jenny Parks of Chapel Hill, Josh Parks, Lexi Darling and Daniel Darling, all of Lexington; sister, Ruth Parks of Lexington; sisters-in-law, Susan Hedrick, Doris Hedrick, and Nancy Hedrick. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Becks Reformed Chruch, 2845 Beck’s Church Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
