William Abner Lester

William “Bill” Abner Lester, 71, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

A graveside service will be 11:00 am Wednesday October 21, 2020 at Salisbury National Cemetery.

Mr. Lester was born on October 2, 1949, in Rochester, New York to Donald Olson Dillon and Emma Dolpha Foster Dillon. William proudly served in the United States Army for four years. Mr. Lester retired from NASCAR after working as a Suspension Specialist for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by a son, William Lester (Ashley) of Lexington; a daughter, Emma Kinney (Gregory) of Thomasville; several brothers and sisters; six grandchildren, Amber, Amanda, Callie, Madison, Ashton, and Evelyn; and five great-grandchildren, Montana, Jordan, Kayden, Jeremiah, and Bailey.
