William Maynard Livengood

October 27, 1930 — August 11, 2013

William Maynard Livengood, 82, of Michael Road, died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at his home following an extended illness. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Howard Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Livengood was born October 27, 1930, in Davie County, to Ernest Webster Livengood and Mary Elizabeth Myers Livengood. He was retired from Dixie Furniture in Linwood having worked in furniture repair for many years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, James Livengood and wife, Ruth, Gilmer Livengood and wife, Bet, Ernest “Chunk” Livengood and wife, Edith, Henry Livengood, Hobert Livengood and wife, Nan; and sisters, Pauline Walser and husband, Hugh, Earline Grubb and husband, Hoyle, Zaddie Long and husband, Marvin, Lavelle Hendrix and husband, Homer. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Janie Slaydon Livengood of the home; daughters, Diane Frye and husband Jerry, and Belinda Byerly and husband Tim, all of Tyro; seven grandchildren, Jamey Nordan Lashon, Patrick Nordan and wife Dana, Addi Byerly, Weston Byerly, Leslie Frye, Clint Frye and Eric Frye and wife Missy; great-grandchildren, Grayson Frye, Emma Frye, and Davis Frye; brother, Frank Livengood and wife Edna of Mocksville; sisters, Mary Ruth Snider and husband Harvey, Vell Jones and husband Roger, both of Tyro, and Sylvia Smith and husband Jack of Reeds; and many loving nephews, nieces, and friends. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292; or St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4299 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
