William Joseph Martino

William Joseph Martino age 74 of Lexington passed away Friday December 27, 2013 at Abbotts Creek Rehabilitation Center. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Harris and Rev. TW Bailey officiating. Burial will follow to the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. William was born July 19, 1939 in Hartford, CT to William A. Martino and Sigrid Steinberg Martino. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from United Technologies. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife Loretta Carter Martino of the home, son; Jeffrey L. Mangum (Linda) of Florida, daughters; Sherry Mangum of Lexington, April Parker (Mick) of Connecticut, sisters; Doreen Ferriola (Jim), Charlene Abronzino (Michael) both of Connecticut and Gail Bartenstein (Billy) of Hawaii, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family would like memorials sent to: Union Grove Baptist Church, 2295 Union Grove Rd. Lexington NC 27295. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
