William (Bill) Waters Myers age 82 , beloved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed on at his home June 30, 2010 and is now singing in Heaven’s Choir. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 at New Vision Baptist Worship Center on Hampton Road, Clemmons, with Pastor Tracy Webb and Rev. Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Myers will lie in state one hour prior to the service and the family will greet friends after the service in the fellowship hall.
Mr. Myers was born in Wilkes County on September 3, 1927 to Evy Vance and Ola Mae Alexander Myers. He retired from Frank L. Blum Const. Co. Bill enjoyed singing the gospel with his family and various groups including the original North State Quartet. He praised the Lord with members of New Vision Baptist Worship Center in Clemmons. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Agnes Myers Laster.
Surviving are his wife Ozena Cheek Myers of the home, with whom he would have celebrated his 62nd wedding anniversary on July 20. ; three sons, William Kermit Myers of Clemmons, Billy Michael Myers of Lexington and Vernon Keith Myers of Winston-Salem; three daughters, Annette Myers Dillard, Vannecia Myers Garner and Regina Myers Stevens all of Lexington; two sisters, Mattie Myers Vinson of Richfield, NC and Uva Myers Harper of Winston-Salem; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
