William Roscoe Porter Jr.

William Roscoe Porter Jr, “Jr”, 73, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

A funeral service will be held the following day at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the funeral home, with Pastor Darryl Love officiating.

Burial will conclude services at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Jr. was born on July 10, 1953, in Davidson County, to the late William Roscoe Porter Sr. and Nellie Deweese Porter. He was an electrician by trade and worked for Davidson Electric for many years.

He spent his time enjoying the freedom he found in riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, enjoying music such as The Beatles, The Beachboys, ACDC, among others, and spending time with his family.

Through music is how he met the love of his life, JoAnn, whom he fell in love with and was married for over 54 years. The life they built together will remain a testament of faithfulness and devotion to their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Left to carry on his legacy are his wife, JoAnn Porter, of the home; daughters, Jill Hudgins (Patrick), of Lexington, and Jennifer Gomaa (Yasser), of Lexington; grandchildren, Austen Gibson, Christian Hammond, Skylar Gibson, Chance Hammond, Tyson Hudgins, Mazen Gomaa, Ian Hudgins, and Alee Gomaa; and great grandchildren, Nirvana Gibson, Taylen Hammond, and Emery Hammond.
