William Vaughan-Lloyd

September 8, 1926 — October 13, 2007

William C. Vaughan-Lloyd, 81 of Woodcrest Drive, Lexington, passed away on October 13, 2007, at Alston Brook Nursing Home after an extended illness. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, where he attended. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury NC. Mr. Vaughan-Lloyd was born in West Palm Beach FL on September 8, 1926, to Oswald Vaughan-Lloyd, and Cecelia Byrne Vaughan-Lloyd. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II, The Korean Conflict and the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the VFW Post 3074, The American Legion Post 8 and The Amvets Post 13. After returning home from the military he was employed with Nabisco and Lamb Distributors as a salesman. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Wilson. Surviving are, his wife of 50 years, Lillie Irene Jordan Vaughan-Lloyd of the home; two sons, Lee Wilson, and Ronald Wilson, both of Lexington; one daughter, Sherry Wilson Hondros, of Lexington; six Grandchhildren, Chris Wilson and wife Deb, Jake Wilson, all of Lexington, Brandy Hondros and husband, Tim, Mark Hondros and wife Lara, and Ben Wilson, all of Wilmington, and Erin DeLosReyes and husband, Paul, of Wake Forest ; three Great-Grandchildren, Patrick Wilson of Lexington, Luke Hondros of Wilmington and Wilson DeLosReyes, of Wake Forest. The family will receive friends Tuesday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and at other times at the home on Woodcrest Drive.
