Wayne Walters, 86, of Hamilton Road, Lexington passed away on October 9, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

William was born August 1, 1940, in Mitchell County GA, to Richard Paul and Alice Brady Walters. He dedicated his life to the U.S Air Force in air transportation for over 28 years. When he wasn’t serving his country he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and kayaking in his leisure time.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Walters, a daughter, Debora Walters, and brothers, Richard Walters, Jr., James Walters and sister in-law Betsy.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Smith Walters, and daughters; Patty McCudden and Linda Thacker (Kirk), and 3 grandchildren.
