Willie Mae Beck

Willie Mae Beck, 87, of Jerusalem Road, passed away at her home Saturday afternoon, October 25, 2014. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Beck’s Reformed Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Byers officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the grave. Mrs. Beck was born June 8, 1927, in Davidson County, to Roy Briggs and Retta Hedrick Briggs. She was a retired teacher from Central Davidson Middle School after teaching for 30+ years and a member of Becks Reformed Church. She was a graduate of Catawba College a member of Delta-Kappa-Gama and the Retired Teachers Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Olan Eugene Beck who died April 2006; daughter, Susan Beck Melton who died in 1980; brother, Foil Briggs; and sisters, Irene Foust and Marie Lopp. Surviving are son, Benny Beck of Lexington; grandchildren, Chris Beck and wife, Leah of Lexington, Jared Melton of Kentucky and Tabatha Garner of Florida; and five great-grandchildren.
