Wille “Bill” Clifton Rummage, 93, of Lexington, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at Mock’s Church in Advance. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Bill was born on January 1, 1933, to the late William and Mary Smith Rummage. He was a devoted husband and enjoyed a long and fulfilling life surrounded by the people and things he loved.

Bill found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Jeans Carp Lake held a special place in his heart as his favorite fishing spot. He also enjoyed tending to his large garden and took pride in the time and care he put into growing it.

Another one of Bill’s greatest passions was restoring old cars. He especially enjoyed working on classic automobiles, including a 1932 Ford, a 1940 Ford Custom Deluxe moonshine car, and a 1959 Cadillac. His love for these cars reflected his appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the memories connected to them.

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Felix Rummage, Olin Rummage and Henry Roland Rummage.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 71 years, Edythe, whom he married on April 9, 1955; along with his son Jeffery Rummage and daughter Sherri Butler (Robert), grandchildren Bobby Butler and Jessica Smith (Justin) and great grandkids, Riley and Justin Jr.. Plus all those who knew and loved him.

Bill’s memory will remain with those who were blessed to know him.
