Willie Freddy Edwards

Willie Freddy Edwards, age 83 of Rockcrusher Road, Lexington passed away Sunday night at Lexington Medical Center. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Blanton officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday night. Willie was born in Davidson County, June 1, 1931 to Willie Wilkins and Ada Winn Edwards. He was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and United Methodist Men. He was a retired employee of Davidson County Schools. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia (Connie) Weatherman Edwards in 2008; son, Billy Joe Edwards in 2006; son-in-law, Chris Jarrett. Willie is survived by daughters, Debbie Beck (Johnny) and Linda Jarrett of Lexington; son, Gene Edwards (Lavon) of Thomasville; grandchildren, Erin Klages (David), Brenton Jarrett and companion Roxanna Monday, Greg Jarrett (Shannon), Chip Edwards (Erin) and David Beck (Jennifer); 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Owens of Southmont. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the Building Fund of Macedonia United Methodist Church, 10890 NC Highway 8, Lexington, NC 27292.
