Willie Lemuel Gaither

Willie Lemuel Gaither of Old Lexington Road, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Burial will follow at Midway Baptist Church. Mr. Gaither was born December 15, 1915 in Wilkes County to James Martin Gaither and Canna Holbrook Gaither. He was the owner & operator of Willie Gaither & sons. A member of Midway Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Beverly Lorraine Gaither. Surviving are his wife of 69 years Rachel Catherine Osborn Gaither of the home, sons; Lemuel Eugene Gaither & wife Brenda of Yadkinville, Robert Michael Gaither & wife Debbie P. of Winston Salem, Tony Ray Gaither & wife Debbie A. of Clemmons. Daughters; Ruby Irene Durham & husband Manuel of Mocksville, Elizabeth Geraldine Hartsell & husband David of Bogue, NC, Willie Colleen Hunt & husband Winfred of Welcome, Nellie Marie Benoist & husband Mitch of Reeds, Rachel Winona Gaither of Lexington, Hilliary Elaine Richardson & husband David of Midway, Erie Faye Gaither of Welcome. Brothers; Hugh Gaither & wife Faye of Richmond, VA, Fred Gaither & wife Lois of Richmond, VA. Sister; Pansy Wall of Mocksville. Grandchildren; 32, great – grandchildren; 62, great – great grandchildren; 10. There will be a visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday December 11, 2009 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
